Prowl in the Park
Saturday, October 27, 2012
ARF's annual pet walk will once again feature a Halloween theme. Prowl in the Park will include all the events that you've loved in the past -- the dog walk, costume contests, kids' games, face painting, adoptable ARF dogs, food, drinks, and ARF merchandise -- but this year we've added even more fun! This year ARF is teaming up with Gamma Sigma Sigma, Georgia College's service sorority to make this the best Prowl yet. As part of the morning's events GSS is hosting a 5K run to benefit the American Diabetes Association’s fund for leading-edge research and education. Participants who purchase a t-shirt will have the opportunity to twist it into a work of art at the tie dye station.
Prowl in the Park will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Oconee River Greenway. Runners will register, turn in pledges and check in for the 5K from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. The race will start 9:30 a.m. Pet walk participants and their dogs will register and turn in pledges from 9 to 10:15 a.m. The walk begins at 10:30 a.m. Don't have a dog? Don't worry! Contact us and we can match you up with a dog for the event. Stay after the race and the walk for the most fun of all, the costume contests! We'll hold contests for little dogs and big dogs, little kids and big kids. This year we'll even let costumed kids' at heart compete for a prize. Stay for lunch; Amici's will be selling their delicious pizza!
The registration fee for the 5K includes a t-shirt and is only $20. All 5K proceeds will benefit the American Diabetes Association. Registration for ARF Pet Walk is $20 with a t-shirt and $10 without. Each entry in the costume contest is $5. All proceeds from the pet walk and costume contests will support ARF.
